Character Strategy

By the end of the Tutorial you should be level 3, and have received 6 bonus points; allocate 3 bonus points into Spirit and 3 bonus points into Power. As you gain more bonus points you should continue to allocate them, at least initially, evenly between Spirit and Power.

At Level 3+: Starting with hand-to-hand combat you should aim to build Spirit of 100 so you can start to use Psychic Shock - check each time you use it and when it starts to do about as much damage as your bare hands, it should become your preferred method of attack. As you gain more levels, in order to make your psychic skills more effective in combat, you should focus on raising your Spirit; allocating bonus points 75% to Spirit, 25% to Power is recommended but your style of play may dictate otherwise. At this stage you need not allocate any bonus points to Strength or Dexterity.

At Level 50+: You finally get to wear rings, with Spirit rings offering you the best value. For now, it is better to build your own Power rather than using Power rings. Your new skill, Ice Rain, is good for attacking many nearby enemies at once, but it doesn’t do as much damage as Psychic Shock. So if you’re fighting a group of weaker enemies, go with Ice rain, if fighting a single, more powerful enemy, use Psychic Shock. Now is the time to start allocating some bonus points to Strength.

At Level 100+: Remember to upgrade your rings. Which rings you get depend entirely on how you want to play the game, but the Spirit and now Power are recommended. You now gain the psychic skill of Absolute Defense which creates a shield that deducts hits from your MP rather than your HP, allowing you to take more damage than you otherwise could. Note that the shield drops every time you use another skill, so either make sure you can take a hit to your HP when the shield is down, or be really quick to raise it back up.
